Oh I agree, this is flawed, we shouldn't tell woment the truth that abortion is taking a life and that they might have regreats down the road. Its much better to keep lieing to are selfs.

20 years ago I ended a pregnancy. I've felt guilty ever since. I don't know if a law like this would have changed anything, but I hope a little more information would have persuaded me to give the child to a loving adoptive family. I still feel so selfish.

Though it doesn't compare to the tragedy of the millions of children killed since the infamous Roe vs. Wade decision, one of the more disturbing aspects of this atrocious issue is the idea that it required a court order to allow a statement of something so obvious.
Actually, it is because the fact that at least one life is snuffed out because of abortion is so obvious that there has been such a desperate attempt to avoid it. If there is one thing we humans are good at it is the art of self deception. Especially when facing the truth is painful.
Congratulations to South Dakota for making acknowledging an obvious truth a matter of law. May it be an example for the rest of the states.

Why, if a child is created by two adults, male and female, why does only the mother get to have the authority to have the abortion without any consultation with the father? That is morally bankrupt. If there was a conception, the father
can be legally terrorized in order to pay child support for a child that the court's will never
lift a finger for him to see. We have obliterated
rights and committed a self righteous abortion of rights against one parent on a daily basis in the
home of the free and brave.

Just to clarify...Why does one person get the power
to end a pregnancy that two people created?

you wrote, "Why does one person get the power

Well let's see who makes what contribution? Where does the baby grow? Who eats for two? Who gets all the embarassing pregnancy exams? Who carries the baby inside themselves for nine months? Who gets heartburn, urine dribbling, varicose veins, stretch marks, and hemerroids? Who has to push the baby out of their body in great pain and over a number of hours? Who has to deliver the after birth? Who gets the episotomy and has to be stitched up afterward? Who bleeds like a stuck pig for six weeks after the birth? Who has to risk major surgery by a c-section if something goes wrong (plus have all the scars)? And who risks dying in either pregancy or labor?
All of the above belongs to the woman (the man's sole contribution is over in like 15 seconds). So since it is HER body and HER health and possibly HER life on the line, don't you think that SHE is the one to determine what does and doesn't grow in her body?

IF she's having sex she knows the consequences (or reward, however you look at it).
She's has no one to blame but herself.
Still it takes two to tango. Life didn't appear in her womb by magic.
