Go chambers. From what he said in the interview I think that he's frustrated with some of the receivers jumping in front of him and taking his reps.

Does anyone have a link to the story on ESPN with Oneill Chambers comments? I would liek to read it for myself.

Go to Espn, college football home, look for the conferences (about mid page) click on independents/others, latest blogs should be presented adjacted to indep/others and pick out chambers, or if it has rolled off the listing go to mtn west conference under indep/others.

Recommend that the coaches TALK with Chambers and allow him to vent at the right level. Maybe he has a point about getting pushed around with the reps. The whole senority gig is BS and once the national recruits understand that no matter how good you are you will have to take a number and wait, they will move on.

Sorensen odd man out? | 9:11 a.m. Aug. 8, 2008
Dallas and Matt Reynolds are very good offensive linemen. I wonder if a few weeks of them in the lineup together will make it tough to revert back when Sorensen is healthy? It may be that Matt is just too good as a starter at left tackle to send him back to the bench and I can only assume that Dallas can be just as good at center as Sorensen. Sorensen has had a lot of bad luck but he may have to wait until his senior year?
BYUs amazing defense | 9:11 a.m. Aug. 8, 2008
Maybe BYUs defense isn't as good as once thought. BYUs offense will only take them so far. I predict a season that is reminiscent of the old WAC days. . . 52-49 scores. You will win most of those games but a few will get away from you.

Sorenson seems to understand that he may never get back his starting spot if he gets cut on. He might have started in 2006, if not for his season killing injury in fall camp. Sete got the job, and held onto it, although Sorenson was a capable starter quality backup all of last season (watching from the sideline).

Chambers will learn that he is a team member. What he said is what a bunch of these guys think when they show up. Have you seen him on youtube? He is apparently one of the most athletic WR recruits we've ever had. Think of fall camp as boot camp. He's going to get broken down before he will be built back up.

I have zero concern over BYU's defense. No need to worry.

It's only going to be a matter of time before O'Neill Chambers gets exactly what he's asking for. If I understand how the team works, Bronco won't really do much to set Chambers right, he'll leave that up to the offensive team captains and the "be careful what you ask for" guys on defense. Last thing I'd want is to be some guy running a slant across David Nixon's path and get cut in two. They may not admit it but guys who pop off about team mates usually get hit just a little harder in practice. I'm not saying that's the case here...I'm just saying. Good luck rookie. Get aquainted with the Ice Bucket and the trainers...If Chambers keeps running his pie hole, he's going to get punnished but it'll make him better and more humble. I can't wait to see him walk the walk!
Best 11 | 11:08 a.m. Aug. 8, 2008
I was listening to the jabberwalkies talk about Chambers this morning on the radio coming in to work. Sounded like a hot topic but there are a number of new guys every year on every team in the country who feel the same way (aren't getting enough playing time).

I hope Chambers is the real deal and can prove it to the coaches and his teammates. But Bronco is right, Chambers needs to get the "we" attitude or the QB will be reluctant to throw to him even if he is good. And if he is one of the best 11 the coaches will play him, as they've promised to all their guys.

But can a guy with a bad attitude (all about "me" instead of "we") be one of the best 11? Probably not. I think both aspects are needed, athleticism and a great attitude.

Young guy, lots of talent, little experience, eager to play, socially immature. Give him some time to grow emotionally and physically. Glad that he has confidence, it's an asset.

I just watched the Youtube video of Chambers and he looks pretty good. He's big! His junior year highlights make him look like a man playing with boys. He's a couple inches taller than nearly everyone on the field. It looks like he enjoys putting a hit on the DB. He's body type reminds me of Terrell Owens.

The issue with Chamber's ability is not with physical ability. There were reports of him running the wrong routes, making the wrong cuts, and making the wrong reads based on the defense presented. It doesn't matter if you are 10' tall, run a 4.1 forty, and catch everything within grasp. If you are running (very quickly) in the wrong direction the ball is not going to go to you, and other slower receivers who know what they are doing will get "your" time. Once Chambers gets the offense and reads down, he may very well be the better receiver. Right now, "seniority" has less to do with the amount of time on the team and more to do with knowledge of the scheme.
oh 8, oh 8, oh 8 | 1:47 p.m. Aug. 8, 2008
Chambers is 18 years old. What do any of us expect? As has been said, give him time to mature, grow up and learn what it is like to play on a team with 50 other stars.

The most important thing to remember, however, is the number 22.

22 Days. Oh thank heaven for the Fall. Does anyone know if Saturday practice will be open??
JSpence | 2:10 p.m. Aug. 8, 2008
I just watched Chambers recruiting video too. So does anyone know why Chambers chose BYU? I don't know if he had anything to do with the production of that video, but I'm pretty sure I wasn't listening to Ryan Shupe and the Rubber Band. LOL. This kid has some serious, serious skill. That one handed grab at the first was phenomenal. Although, I couldn't help but notice him getting in peoples faces after he'd do something good. Even on defense when a player gained twenty yards and he'd make the tackle and he'd get up and start celebrating. Man I don't know about this kid. At first I liked his comments about the other BYU recievers. I gave him the benefit of the doubt cause I thought he knew what he was doing. Now i'm starting to wonder if this kid is just a straight punk. Anybody have some insights?
RE: JSpence | 2:35 p.m. Aug. 8, 2008
Chambers coach was Tyler Anderson, a former BYU WR. That probably had a lot to do with him coming to Provo.
Michael | 2:55 p.m. Aug. 8, 2008
Yeah chambers coach introduced him to byu and then chambers visited here and really liked it. He seems like a really nice kid. He talked about how byu was a nice place and good atmosphere. I wish him the best and excited to see him play when his time comes.
WOODY | 7:58 p.m. Aug. 8, 2008
This young man maybe right. I also see this in basketball. Maybe these kids were in the program but some time away changes some, not all. Do they stay on a team because they were on before or should they just shut it down and give a younger kid a chance..Play the best.

"Sorensen has received injections in the shoulder to alleviate the pain."

Ahh... I love that BYU is returning to the traditions of the glory days.

Shoot 'em up and suit 'em....

That's the way national championships are won.
doctor doctor | 9:24 p.m. Aug. 8, 2008
Let him play and say what he wants, as long as he backs it up with his skills and production. He is by far more talented than most of the roster. Let him have an attitude. So what!!! He doesn't need to be a sheeple to survive Provo. Let his play do the talking. He will mature like the rest of you did. Let him talk if it makes him feel better. Maybe it will give others a reason to improve themselves
dropped balls? | 7:46 a.m. Aug. 9, 2008
An inordinate amount of dropped balls? Does anyone that watched this know why? Was it the good defense or are we talking about balls that were open? Also, how'd Hall look in the pocket this year?
Y Grad, Y Dad | 10:43 a.m. Aug. 9, 2008
Interesting that Chambers' comments really hardly make a ripple, but let a player try in his own way to give credit to God and watch the storm rip through the Wasatch.

I too don't believe Father is very concerned about football games. But I am sure that he is very concerned about football players, and every other person. And I do think it pleases Him when they turn to Him, especially when ridiculed for it.

Sorry, just had to say it...
