Further to the last paragraph, I would opine that liberty fused with overbearing social conservatism creates and illusion. Utah society.

Will forgot to mention that the president that succeeded Buchanan was the least experienced president in American history-Abraham Linclon.

Last week, experience was everything. This week, it doesn't matter? Make up your minds, Republicans. You can't have it both ways.

Our inexperienced joker is better than your inexperienced joker. That's the end of the debate.

This was an extemely well-reasoned, rational and logical article. Therefore, Utah conservatives are NOT going to like it.

Hold on, now. Our inexperienced joker (the vice-presidential candidate) is still more experienced than your inexperienced joker (the presidential candidate).

... that Americans allegedly want a rock star? Dick Cheney is arguably the most qualified person in the country to be President (8 years as VP and how many ever years as Sec of Defense on and on) and he wouldn't have a snowball's chance in heck of being elected Pres ... oh well ... the country marches on

Who said experience doesn't matter? Sarah Palin has more experience on city council, mayor, and governor than Community Organizer Barack Obama.

Experience, judgement, character.
I want someone with experience and judgement, but I also want someone with the character not to use that experience and judgement, not to mention power, against the best interests of the American people. I have little confidence that McCain or Obama or Biden have relevant experience or judgement, let alone the character that would prevent them from doing harm, on behalf of narrow interests, to the American people.
Palin is an interesting and promising figure, but one who is also possibly guided a bit too much by moral values supposedly handed down by the burning bush, and therefore unanswerable to reason.
(I'm speaking not of the 10 commandments but of the policy prescriptions that Jesus supposedly would favor, whether it be driving a Prius or socialized medicine or throwing open the borders to all comers.)

"Who said experience doesn't matter?"
George F. Will did. Read the article. He clearly points out how Buchanan should have been a great president, given his past *experience*. Buchanan is universally regarded as one of the worst presidents in US history.
"Sarah Palin has more experience on city council, mayor, and governor than Community Organizer Barack Obama."
Are you seriously comparing being the mayor of a town with fewer than 9000 residents to being a state senator in Illinois, with a district more populous than the entire state of Alaska? Are you also seriously comparing 20 months as the governor of a small state (population-wise) with 3.5 years experience as a US Senator? Obama may not be the most experienced candidate, but come on, Palin's qualifications are non-existent.
Also, you obviously have no idea what Obama did as a "community organizer" if you think it is negligible.

My father a flag officer in the Air Force had lots of dealings with Senators he thought that they were mostly idiots. Obama the messiah started to campaign for president after one year in the Senate. So the messiah has one year of experience not three and a half. So the messiah has one year as an idiot. I'll take Sara any day.

Why is McCain a hero.
Idiot Senators | 10:34 p.m. Sept. 3, 2008
What does that say about Old Man McCain, who has been an idiot Senator for 21 years?
