Reader comments: Campaign aims to get teens active in politics

This could be a really good idea, if combined with education about the important issues at stake in the elections. Teenagers are at least as intellligent as their elders, but lack knowledge of the historical development of the issues (blame this on both the education system & their parents). Oops! - the lack of knowledge comment could also apply to most of their elders. Most voters, most citizens are sadly lacking in historical knowledge. Development of informed, educated interest in the political system would be a wonderful thing.

I hope young people will start to figure out that their future depends on who leads today. We can see that with the price of gas, if our government would have taken care of this issue 30 years ago, we would not be killed at the pumps. I am in my mid 50's, and it wasn't that long ago that I was young, and I am now really knowing about politics and the world around me.

There are two very strong voices in politics, and both can twist things to their benefit, but the most important thing, is to learn how to figure out what each voice is saying and to listen to how it is said.

You young people will be starting families in the next few years, and trust me, those who are running this country do have a great impact on how your will be able to run your family.
