to see that Alex is having a hard time staying healthy in the NFL. I guess you win some and lose some in life. Hang in there Alex.

I wish Alex no ill will, but when you are a #1 draft choice and sign a contract for an obscenely large amount of cash, the teams fans have this funny habit of expecting you to perform. AS has instead whined continually and refused to follow his head coach directions and the 49'er doctors recommendations for treatment. Neither coach Nolan or the fans shed any tears when it was announced that a free agent had beaten our zillion dollar disappointment for the starting job. My question DN, is what makes this news? He wasn't likely to play anyway in Arizona. I understand the yutz deal just as I get the references to former BYU QB John Beck. However your manner of writing assumes the guy was going to be used on Sunday, hence the team would be at a disadvantage which we know won't be the case. For great info on the 49ers check out the San Jose Mercury.

What is an erudite fellow like you obviously are doing reading the Deseret News. This story obviously came off the AP wire, numbskull. And who says that Nolan and the team doctors have ever had Alex Smith's best interest in mind in making their recommendations?

Best of luck to Alex; I hope he can find a team where he has a chance to really shine.
