Layton is where they should be, at #3. Maybe they'll get the respect they deserve. It's not a 1-time fluke as many SL Valley schools were stating earlier in the year. Layton is here and they're for real! When the Lancers get their #1 Offensive and #1 Defensive players back from injuries...watch out !

Who's the best 5A UT County team? Although none ranked very high so far, I think a sleeper will come out of UT County to challenge some of the Davis & SL County schools.

looks like 4A might be tougher on top than 5A this year.

don't forget PG...that game was theirs if the reciever does not take a knee...that is the sleeper and as far as the 4A and 5A schools...some might beat them but the elite I still believe it goes to the 5A

like the rankings really matter. We want to continue to fly under the radar. the D news pumped up previosly unbeaten Riverton...we played our JV and Sophs the entire 4th quarter because it was a blow out. Just keep ignoring us Dnews....it is actually a good thing.....

Northridge beats Jordan last second 41-38 and Layton kills the same team 35-14. Well Northridge - Layton will be game of the year.

I can not believe that Pleasant Grove is not ranked after thumping Riverton on Friday. They are 2-1 and their only loss was 6-10 to Timpview, the #1 team in a very tough 4A, in what will probably be Timpview's closest game of the year. How can a 1-2 Bingham team be ranked above them? I'm glad this is not big time college football because there is actually a playoff at the end of the year!

Possibly the biggest matchup this week is Pleasant Grove at Copper Hills. PG is unlucky to be 2-1 and Copper Hills is 3-0. The Grizzlies defense will finally get a true test from the vikings, so keep an eye on how clint jex tries to add to his 10 sacks. PG should gauge their D against Josh Soter and the spread. Expect a great game

Layton is a good team as is Alta and Bingham. The season is long and hard so much can change from week to week.

As one of the coaches of one of the above teams please lets remember these kids are giving there all each and every game.

You fans need to stop bashing each others teams, try to remember it is just a game pure and simple. As coaches we teaching more than just football we are teaching life skills first and foremost.

WELL unfortunatley the washington county school district thought it would be a great idea to move the stg schools to 4a but guess what pine view and dixie have 3a numbers as far as students and snow canyon would still qualify for 4a because they were not affected by the desert hills school. and pv is still a good team they just got lit up but im sure they can figure it out. just a reminder pv is missing star players due to injury including wr evans.

You'll get your chance to be crushed by Bingham just like all the other years in region 3. So enjoy you spot in the rankings until then, because you will assume your veiw from the bottom and watch Bingham roll into the playoffs. Just be glad that they are there to carry the banner for region 3 year after year, sport after sport.

The difference between Sky View & Pineview, is that, Sky View is actually as good as people say. They have soundly beaten each team they've faced, including a very good Logan squad! I believe Logan could beat Pineview, this year.
Pineview thinks to highly of itself. I watched the Cottonwood game, and if I were you, I would not be worrying about playing far into November. I would be worrying about, how in the heck to stop Timo, with a defense, that is nonexistent.
Note to Pineview: Quit touting yourselves, pick yourselves up, work on some things, and quietly go about the rest of the season. Maybe then, you will be able to surprise some teams, and actually live up to the hype!
Oh and, by the way, I am just an honest observer, I have no interests in Sky View, Cottonwood, or Pineview.

We are used to having everyone hate us. It is what we want. If are jealous of someone, you hate them. We hope everyone out there continues to hate us. It is the best part for us. When you are hated, you are a somebody. No one hates the bad teams or schools. That's because no one cares. With the best overall sports program in the state, I would hate us too. Region 3 really hates us. I wonder why?

seriously? everyone is raving about timpviews unbeaten streak. id like to see them play alta, bingham, or another top 5a team. 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, the year doesnt matter, they would have gotten crushed then, and they would get crushed now. dont get me wrong, timpview is a phenomenal team compared to other 4a teams, and they have a legitimate shot at repeating again this year, but 4a just doesnt measure up to 5a. but i wouldnt expect you to understand if you havent played 5a personally.......

You forgot to mention that Washington County School Dist also let you keep all your seniors, unlike the schools affected by Salem Hills where the seniors were required to got to the new school. Let's face it, PV finally played a good team and found out where they really are, which is an average 4a team. Stop blaming your loss on injuries. All teams deal with injuries. Just realize circle black is in trouble and your dreams of an undefeated season are gone, unless you keep counting the games that only happen after the last loss, then you will always be undefeated. PV is the only team that can "just get lit up" and still be the best team in the state and undefeated! Give me a break!!!

Bingham isn't hated for their ability to play sports!! They are hated because of what some of their crazed parents say and do. A few bad apples have ruined it for all!!! You BHS parents know who I am talking about. You need to let people know you aren't all that way. Unfortunate for BHS - your worst and most offensive parent will be around for years to come. It's just high school football...not the pros. These are 17 yr, old guys playing hard, still learning. Remember, any team on any given day can win or lose.

people are saying alta would crush timpview i find that really hard to believe. first week we played alta and we were nervous and had butterflies and lost then we played timpview the week after, we were so pumped up and all the butterflies went away but we got trashed and stomped on by their defense. so all you doubters that say timpview isn't good enough to beat alta, please i was the one that played both of them and i would bet a million dollars(if i had) on timpview and thats a fact.

Bingham is ranked because of their ability to produce a winning program year after year. Whoever the "are you serious" post belongs to, you will soon find out why Bingham is ranked. It looks like Bingham finally is working out their problems? Even though Fremont was not a very good football team, Bingham looked like they had a different swagger on Friday night. This week will be a good test for us with a good Jordan team coming to visit us at our new field. It seemed that when they pulled the starters there is a significant difference. While the first team DB's only gave one TD, when they subbed Fremont started to move the ball. I hope that they stick with that new group of DB's for the Jordan game? Congratulations to all the winning teams, and better luck to those that suffered a loss. GO BINGHAM!

I have to admit, P.V. does not deserve to be ranked after a loss like that. The defense was destroyed!!! Having said that, I am glad they got beat up. I think that can weigh in their benefit because they did it in preseason rather than in the playoffs. Cottonwood is extremely good. If P.V. meets them again in the playoffs, I think P.V. will play a much better game, but will still lose. Snow Canyon is too one-dimensional (Timo). Too bad Timo doesn't play for P.V. P.V. needs to realize they have a long ways to go, but they will learn and be good this year.

I'm not a Bingham fan, but they should still be ranked. They stumbled, but they are still one of the best teams out there.

As a unbiased football fan, I went to the LP/Timpview game hoping to see an upset. What I saw was a GREAT defensive team AGAIN! (Saw the PG/Timp game a few weeks ago also). I enjoy a good debate; but until I see a team move the ball against Timpview, my vote is that the best defensive team is your best team. I love the sport and love to see good competition; so please let me know what team is going to challange that defense unit so I can go watch. Good luck to all. It's been a fun season so far.

Hey bud, this is probably not the year, to claim that 5a is competitive with 4a. 2 of your top 5, in this poll, have lost to 4a teams, while only 1 of our top 5 lost to a 5a school. Not that I put any faith in these polls, but, just on that criteria alone, 5a is shown to be weaker.
5a proponents keep bringing up Bingham? Let the Bingham thing die! Like a lot of people are saying, including some Bingham fans, Bingham is good every 50-60 years, or so, and then they return to their losing ways. Something tells me, that Bingham's run is over. The only REAL team, in 5a, is Alta, but, sad to say, they would lose to Timpview, this year or any other year.

1A is weak even for it's poor standards. Parowan has got a shot. GO RAMS!!! They will kill Gunnison this week! No doubt in my mind!

As i have been watching and keeping an eye on as much games as i possibly could, i have came to the realization that region one is the supreme region again. Other then clearfield, fremont, and weber, this region is stacked.

Are you kidding me about Parowan. They lost 27-7 to South Sevier the only halfway decent team they're played. Last year beating gunnison was a total fluke! You've got no chance at all! Anyways Bingham does deserve respect plain and simple.
