It is obvious that the U of U socer program is in serious trouble. Only 2 of there 11 new recruits are ready to see any action this year. Yet coach Manning continues to put these girls into positions that they cannot succeed in. At the same time, seasoned veterans like Danielle Sample and Addie Hair languish on the bench. Both of them started and were big contributors in the 2 biggest victories last year. Sample was instrumental in the victory over Wyoming in the MWC conference tournament, And Hair Started and Played every minute in the BYU shutout victory in Provo last year. the defense continuues to give up the same bad goals every game at the worst possible moments. The Defense has been terrible and we have been consistently outplayed in the midfield. But Manning seems unwilling to make any changes, and has paid the consequences. At 1-5, it seems like a reasonable person would be looking to other options to try something different. But Manning has tied his fate to freshman who are clearly not division 1 quality players and never will be. I feel sorry for his upperclassmen who have been ignored and treated like trash.
