Don't do surgery without more research! Read "A Headache in the Pelvis" by Weiss. Had surgery after a doc recommended it for 4 years, and it was a mistake. Most of this pf problem is still in the research stage. Look before you get cut!

Good to know that medicare may not cover it. I have bowel leakage daily so looking forward to upcoming surgery.

I can't believe they needed to do a study on this subject. Lots of women I know talk about leaking urine when they laugh or sneeze. I had a friend with a prolapsed uterus as a young woman in her 20's. Yes, even bowel leakage has been discussed as a friend underwent 2 surgeries to correct the problem. It's never been a taboo subject and I'm active LDS. It seems every mom I know has a pelvic floor problem. We just assume it's part of pregnancy and childbirth. This hardly seems newsworthy to me. What'll the next headline be? "Colds and flu more common in winter months."
