Save four minutes? Is this guy clueless. With the growth we are experiencing in Utah County, this plan has the potential to save 20-30 minutes per commuter per trip. That's 40-60 minutes per day for your average worker commuting to SLC. I'd say that's well worth the investment. Last night the commute on SR-92 was bumper-to-bumper at 20 mph, plus I had to stop at every light.
I would have been nice for the reporter to interview those of us at the meeting that were thrilled with the design proposal. Of course, that would require some balance in the media.

I asked about a freeway. The problems with a freeway is that the cities opposed it, there are too many roads and driveways onto SR92, and Thanksgiving Point golf course is in the way (federal environmentalists would kill the project if it disrupted the green space). I'm glad they investigated it, but understand the limitation the prevented it. I think the recommended design will provide the best of both worlds -- if I can't have a freeway at least I can drive the express lanes.

Actually if they were smart, they would continue the freeway west past I-15 through Lehi, Eagle Mtn, and Cedar Pass and connect it north to I-80 through Tooele.
