He got a better deal for more money. The economy isn't ggod here and he got a guanteed spot with money.
Way to go, I wish I could go overseas and make that coin as well.

Are you kidding? He had zero chance of making the Jazz team, the euro season starts sooner then the NBA, he got a guaranteed contract in Europe and isn't that the whole point for an unemployed player.

Matt may as well stay in Santa Barbara. It's time to move on with Utah's youth.

Ben, the Jazz already have all 15 spots filled. How would Johnson make the team? He made the right decision.

Matt has been good for this team and we appreciate the toughness he has shown in the past. GO C.J. NOWS YOUR CHANCE DUDE, BRING IT!!!!!!
Thanks Matt | 7:43 p.m. Sept. 29, 2008
Alas, I think Matt Harpring is on his way out. He's been a terrific player, and a good leader. The guy always gives his all, and you just know he's playing through pain. He's a soldier. But how much can one guy endure? Every year I think he's done, so I won't be shocked should he play all year, but I think his minutes will continue to dwindle. So I gotta agree with Bart. Step up, CJ. Big shoes to fill. But you got tons of talent. If you can apply the work ethic that Matt Harpring has always had, you'll rock.

sounds like Harpring has an immune system problem with his susceptibility to infections. i would have his gamma globulin levels checked.

Matt Harpring is my favorite player. I love his hustle and hard work...I think he may have a year or two great seasons left in him, but his body is definitely breaking down. Good luck Matt!

Matt Harpning, beleive me when I tell you,has got big shoes to fill. pound for pound He's the toughest player in the league. this guy comes to play. He does not know any other way. He playes in the shadows of the stars, like horny did with stockton and malone. he's more than a role player. I hope he is back when the season starts. He's the complete Package. we need him more-so than the young players to grab the brass ring this season.
come back matt. get healed and come back. go jazz!

Britton is NOT an NBA talent | 11:10 p.m. Sept. 29, 2008
What a joke. Why even mention Britton Johnsen here? It's obvious the Jazz just invite guys like this to keep the local college fans happy.
Johnsen was laughable as a college senior. He was mentally weak. He was physically weak. I'm surprised he's even making money playing basketball.

It's hard for me to hear that Matt is going through pain, cause he has tried to fight through pain his whole career. I agree that this is the time that CJ needs to make his mark on this team. Maybe this also could mean that Morris Almond could receive some minutes that is until Matt is healthy enough to be competitive on a nightly basis. But I think he will only receive 10-12 minutes a game this year. Miles will be the back up to Andrei, and Kyle could become a starter this year if he is willing to put enough work in training camp. I would just love to see a replication of John, Karl, and Hornacek on the court together in the starting lineup with Deron, Carlos, and Kyle. If Andrei could accept the possibilty of coming off the bench like he did his first year in the league, and put Brewer in at the Small foward position we would have a good starting lineup including Mehmo at center. I really hope this is Utah's year, but only time will tell if they are willing to sacrifice their own personal ego's for the whole team.

Yearsley, how can you compare Carlos the Loser to the great Karl Malone. What a joke. If you want to put someone coming off the bench it should be Boozer. We all know who has the biggest ego on the Jazz and it is Boozer.

Harpring is a warrior. One of the last of his kind.
