I oppose almost all tax increases, but this tax increase makes a lot of sense for the residents of Cedar Hills.

Why? Because for every dollar collected by Cedar Hills, the residents will likely only pay 30 or 40 cents of that dollar -- the remainder will come from the residents of surrounding cities who will pay the tax when they shop at the stores in Cedar Hills (like Wal-Mart).

Ever since Cedar Hills was founded in 1977 the residents of Cedar Hills have spent thousands, if not millions, of dollars in sales tax in surrounding cities, and received no benefit from a portion of those sales tax dollars. Now it is Cedar Hills' turn to benefit from sales tax dollars. This tax increase helps make that happen.
