I am so tired of hearing that OJ "got away with murder" and that he beat the justice system in his murder trial, uttered by Know-it-alls who didn't hear the evidence in the trial. You simply don't understand how the justice system works, and you ought to be embarrassed about that. The evidence against OJ in the murder case was only good enough to conclude that he PROBABLY did it. That's not enough for a criminal conviction, which requires proof beyond a reasonable doubt. It is enough for a civil damages judgment, which is what was awarded against him, but that does not prove that OJ was guilty of a crime. In the justice system, criminal is different from civil, and has been for hundreds of years. Your simple-minded failure to recognize the distinction does a disservice to your readers and perpetuates a falsehood.

Two wrongs don't make a right. I will assume both verdicts were correct, because that is our system.

Ya, he'll be going away for a long time, raaiight.
Like Paris Hilton's jail time after her numerous drunk driving convictions. 3 day sentence = checkin 1 minute before midnight, spend the day in your cell and check out one minute after midnight?
That kind of stuff only works for these celebrities.
If it weren't for fact that he previously got away with double murder, he probably wouldn't get any time for this offense. I think the injustice done back then may catch up with him this time and he may end up spending some time behind bars. If it weren't for his history, a celebrity like OJ probably wouldn't get any time for a low profile incident like this.

How neive can one be? You assume our system always gets the correct results? If that is the case, why do people bother to spend money on high priced lawyers?

What goes around comes around. Nobody gets away with anything. Everyone pays whether in this life or the next. OJ hasn't gotten away with anything.
And to THERE YOU GO AGAIN: I watched at least 95% of the first trial on TV. For the life of me, I can't understand how ANYONE could have issued an acquittal. This is a case of an all too common phenonomon these day--STUPID JURIES. It's also a case of how smart defense attorneys can twist the truth to get people to believe anything--even if it is a complete LIE. If someone PROBABLY did it, that IS guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
I'm glad justice has FINALLY prevailed on this train-wreck of a human being.

Great Case For Appeal | 10:03 a.m. Oct. 7, 2008
The Las Vegas jury admitted they were biased by the Los Angeles criminal case. This case will be appealed, unless the judge recognizes the bias and puts an end to the stupidity by giving Simpson a "Paris Hilton" punishment... 45 minutes in county lockup.

What is justice? Here in Utah you have a man shoot his wife in the church parking lot with living witnesses - he is screwing the system over. You had a couple of islanders shoot a manager of a store within same time frame, they have already been sentenced and put away. What is holding up the other why money, status etc and would it be he is a white mormon male. OJ will get what is coming to him I hope but once again we might see the powers of money and corruption set him free to laugh at the justice system once again.

OJ did kill his wife and Goldman. The cops fouled up the investigation by not being careful with evidence. A warrant should have been obtained before searching OJ's house. The top forensic people at LAPD should have called in when they realized who was killed. The crime scene should have been locked up and no one allowed in until the scene was properly investigated. These problems along with dimwit prosecutors soured the case against OJ. Also having the trial on TV was a mistake. The judge was playing to the TV audience. So was Cochrane. Who in their right mind would have OJ put on a leather glove that had shrunk over time? They should have taken DNA from the inside of the glove to determine who's it was.
It's about time OJ got some comeuppance.
If the evidence in the murder case hasn't been destroyed, it would be interesting to see a reputable forensic scientist analyize it and see what conclusions they come up with.

To "Cats"---You watched television and you think you're an expert? Your cynicism is no substitute for experience and knowledge. I've watched juries for 30 years and I know how they work. Get back to us when you have served on a jury and you know what you are talking about. "Reasonable doubt" is very different from "probably." Even a person who knows nothing expect what is on TV should know that.
Pile it on, Mike R | 2:30 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
OJ "got his comeuppance" when he lost the civil lawsuit.
This Las Vegas deal was a sham. He was set up so clown could make a pile of money off of TMZ.

OJ did not shame the system. It was incompetent prosecutors and even worse cops. The jury saw through their house of cards quickly.
This time they saw the evidence presented clearly, not screwed up.

OJ is just demonstrating what kind of a person he is, continuing to get caught up in stupid situations. He's very stupid, and a drug addict, he thinks rules don't apply to him. Good riddence, OJ!!!

Even if worth tens of thousands of dollars how could he take such a risk? I don't understand how he can be so dumb.
