The article states, "The fire on the nuclear-powered carrier exacerbated concerns in Japan where use of nuclear weapons are a sensitive issue".

What the heck does an incident on a nuclear powered ship have to do with the use of nuclear weapons??? There aren't neccesarily any nuclear weapons onboard an aircraft carrier! The carrier is 'nuclear-powered', but that doesn't imply they carry nuclear-munitions!

Japan is on the leading edge of nuclear power generation and Japanese citizens are very comfortable with nuclear power plants. Nuclear reactors are ubiquitous in Japan.

What does this story really have to do with the use of nuclear weapons? Is the media trying to nudge and weave this incident into something about the totally unrelated issue of using nuclear weapons? Or spin this into the ever present "evil America with their nasty-nukes" debate?
