I was so disappointed in the distortion of facts last debate that I opted not to watch last night. I figured I would get the truth by articles like this rather than the hyped up talking points these debates foster. If you are also sick of politics as usual vote for term limitations for our Congressmen and Senators too.

Neither candidate will make a good president. We have to decide which one will be the worst, or cast a protest vote.

This is "Joe-Sixpack" talking here, and McCain WON that debate (not a Demo-bebait as we all thought it would turn into from the liberal news), "HANDS DOWN"!. McCain and Sarah 2008.
In the only debate where the American people get to participate, Senator McCain answered the tough questions about how his pro-growth, pro-jobs policies will lead to a stronger economy and help taxpayers recover from the credit crisis the do-nothing Democrat Congress put us in. Senator McCain also showed why he has the experience and character needed to carry on the fight to win the war against radical Islamic extremism. He has always put his country first and will continue to do so as our commander-in-chief. Reform Republicans have a clear plan for breaking our nation's strategic dependence on foreign sources of energy by producing more of our own power and developing alternative fuels to cut off the flow of oil wealth to repressive dictatorships like Iran. Contrast this with the Obama Democrats' failed liberal message of bigger government, higher taxes and spending and more power for Washington D.C. bureaucrats, and the American people have a clear choice to make on November 4th to VOTE FOR "McCain and Sarah".

Money Rescue: Extreme Spending
Has reckless spending left you in the red? With consumer debt in America now exceeding $880 billion, how much are you contributing to that statistic? Tantani describes herself as a big-time shopper who has accrued nearly $25,000 in credit card debt. When Dr. Phil reveals how much a $100 pair of shoes actually costs after credit card interest is tacked on, will she -- and you -- think twice about making another purchase with plastic? Then, Heidi admits to getting a high from shopping and has even skipped paying utility bills to buy name-brand items. Heidi's husband, Steve, loves to spend money on gadgets and tools. He recently lost his job, and you won't believe how he spent his severance! Dr. Phil gives the couple a money-spending quiz. Take it yourself to find out if you could be headed for economic disaster. Financial expert, Loral Langemeier, pays a visit to Heidi and Steve to get to the bottom of their financial mess. What makes Heidi reach a tearful breaking point? Will the couple follow Loral's financial plan?.

McCain & Sarah 2008 | 1:00 p.m. Oct. 8, 2008
John McCain provided the American people with straight talk about the economic challenges confronting our country and the world. The difference between John McCain and Barack Obama is that John McCain provides more than talk. McCain provides a record of action that makes him the leader to get our economy back on track and secure the peace for future generations.
On the other hand, Barack H. Obama talked about tax cuts while time and time again he has voted for higher taxes—much like his 2004 Senate race when he talked about tax cuts, but never actually introduced any legislation to cut people's taxes. We also heard Barack Obama talk about leadership during an economic crisis, when he actually stood on the sidelines.
The one thing we didn’t hear Obama talk about tonight was a reasonable explanation for the depth and longevity of his relationship with an unrepentant domestic terrorist, or the fact that he was aided in the purchase of his home by a convicted felon.

At the end of the day, it's disappointing to see candidates resorting to distortion and misrepresentation. A lazy or ignorant electorate lets them get away with it. Anyone attacking either candidate's statement is passed off as just being partisan. What we need are Democrats willing to call Obama for his lies and distortions, and Republicans willing to call McCain on his. Then maybe we'll get somewhere.
I for one am disappointed that the Straight Talk Express has been derailed in some ways.
