Excellent point, Lois! I hope lots of government officials read this and change their mumbling ways.

Lois has hit the nail on the head with her observatios. Thanks for outlining a problem that occurs all too frequently in many government meetings.
It's not only that you can't hear major portions of a meeting discussion, but also you frequently miss a critical part of the discussion because one voting member neglects to make one or more of his/her comments audible to the audience. Sometimes, comments and discussion are spoken so softly that even the microphone recording the official record doesn't pick up the utterance clearly enough to be understood.
