It is sad that Gov. Bill Richardson appears to have no more information than Rep. Honda had, when he made this statement.
Jason Chaffetz's democrat opponent while making attacks on the immigration plans has changed his.
He dropped requiring English, Fines, and getting in Line for citizenship from his plan. Why?
Democrat:
"Bring undocumented immigrants out of the shadows and put those who are in good standing on a pathway to citizenship so that they can contribute to society by paying their fair share of taxes."
Just because someone doesn't think it is fair for someone that comes to the US without permission, to become a citizen when others have been legally waiting - should they be called a racist?
I am voting for Jason Chaffetz.

As someone that has many friends that are "latino", I object to someone labeling people racist, just because they want to fix legal immigration, and don't want those that came here without permission to become citizens before those waiting legally.
I have been to Dachau. My father fought in WWII and received the purple heart and 4 bronze stars.
If we have a democrat candidate that is basing his fund raising by distorting Jason Chaffetz, he should read his book again. What would Jesus do?

This is getting old—here’s the facts:
The Western Governors Association recommended building more detention facilities to house fugitive aliens who otherwise might be released from prison early due to a shortage of capacity in our current prison system.
Sheriff Joe Arpaio saves millions of dollars for the state of Arizona by housing criminals in tents surrounded by barbed wire.
Jason Chaffetz has never advocated housing non-criminal illegal aliens in detention centers, nor has he ever said anything about nationality or ethnicity. If you are a fugitive illegal alien who has committed a criminal act, regardless of your ethnicity you belong in one of these detention facilities until your sentence has been fulfilled at which point you should be and will be deported.
Jason Chaffetz liked the Western Governor's plan. He also liked Sheriff Joe Arpaio's solution for housing criminals. He's a smart, creative, solutions oriented guy, and he took the best part of two great ideas and combined them into another great idea which would solve a very serious problem--the 600,000 plus fugitive aliens who need to be locked up.

Moderatos, I must object to your posting of Arc. He is flat out lying!
Read the very article in which Jason Chaffetz ADMITS with his own mouth that he used the terms and now regrets having said so. And you consistently post Arcs comments in which he again denys that Jason Chaffetz said what Jason Chaffetz admits to having said!
How can you as the moderators do this? How can you allow someone to flat out lie, knowing beyond a doubt that it is a lie?
If you are going to deny posts that have tough words in them, should not a very pleasantly written lie such as Arcs be removed? If you are going to act as 'big brother' by censuring free speech should you not at least allow observabel truths to be posted? A 5 year old could note that Arc continues to lie.
As a minimum, are you going to post this? I sincerely believe that the moderators are young college age students who are in love with Chaffetz. For the past two years they have allowed every insance attack on Chris Cannon to be posted and now, suddenly they censure posts with Chaffetz.
Be consistent!

Let me add that we see in Chaffetz a very horrible trait. He wishes he had not used the word "tent" but instead a 'eco-friendly, portable', etc, etc.
Translation, Chaffetz jokes about he should have lied or knowingly mislead the voters. His true colors are revealed.
It should be noted, he is not stupid. He knows exactly what he is doing. He does not regret using the word "tents", adding razor wire and trying to blame it on the Governors. He was very methodical in the use of those words, knowing that a rabid right-wing convention wanted that kind of approach.
Once he got into a Primary he changed from "tents" for all, to "Pathway to Deportation" visas for all, as he published in the Deseret News. Now in a General election he supports Guest Worker Visas, the very thing he openly attacked Chris Cannon and David Leavitt for as amnesty during the convention.
Jason Chaffetz is a horribly dishonest person. I'm a staunch, conservative Republican and will be voting for Bennion Spencer. No one with an ounce of integrity should vote for anyone who openly admits he should have mislead the voters, as Jason carps.
Vote for honesty!

Finally, a third post since the moderators are feeling generous enough to allow Arc to post all he wants.
It should be noted that in the Salt Lake Tribune Chaffetz has been caught with another lie.
The issue is that of 'who is put into his concentration style camps.'
During convention Chaffetz did NOT publicly say that ALL illegal aliens are to be put into these tents.
What we have seen many dozens if not more times is Chaffetz delegates coming forward saying that Chaffetz said "ALL illegal aliens" to them privately. In fact, they have posted right here on the Deseret News website, as well as the Salt Lake Tribune, Daily Herald, openly commented about it on various call-in radio programs. He has been caught saying different things to different people for votes. He lies!
In the Salt Lake Tribune about two weeks ago Chaffetz tried to clear this up by saying those that have committed crimes will be locked in the tents, but added "and for deportation."
These tents are NOT just for criminal aliens but infact are to be used to hold all those who are being deported. Translation, those that are here illegally.

Arc, I think you are abit over the top. You're basically denying what Jason Chaffetz admits. That leaves you without a chair to sit in when the music ends. Not a fun place to be in.
You attempt to beat up on Bennion Spencer for weak ideas in dealing with illegal immigrants. Keep in mind that your boss, Jason Chaffetz now supports the Guest Worker visa, so long as it is NOT tied to citizenship. Keep in mind that Ted Kennedy has a Guest Worker visa that did not give them citizenship. Very easy to see that your boss now supports Ted Kennedy's Guest Worker visa.
Almost every Guest Worker visa requires that the illegal immigrant must come forward out of the shadows, pay backtaxes, etc' the very thing he is beating up Bennion Spencer over.
As a Republican I have seen enough and will be voting for Bennion Spencer. I rarely vote for Democrats but will this time. I would clearly rather have a Bill Orton, Jim Matheson type Democrat representing me than an openly lying Republican.
And your jab at religion is equally obnoxious. Please stop while you're behind, only getting worse.

Jason isn't backing down on what he said. He perhaps wishes he had used an other word, since Bennion keeps distoring the truth.
Jason hasn't changed his immigration stance. Bennion has. Now he is saying he is smearing Jason to pick up more financial support. What is with that?

First, welcome back to the DesNews political articles. It seems that you had nothing to say about any other article in recent weeks that don't have anything to do with Chaffetz (I didn't see you on any of the recent articles on House ethics). This only convinces me further that you are part of the campaign.
Second, can you please get Jason to backpedal even further and tell the average voters that he only said "tent" because he got a positive reaction from the delegates and it worked to get him the nomination, but now he is willing to cool off and take a more reasonable and realistic approach to fixing immigration?

As a state delegate, I've followed Jason Chaffetz (and all other candidates) very closely since February. I've taken careful notes as to everything they and Jason have said, and discussed the issues with Chaffetz one on one. The problem of immigration is among the top of my list of concerns. Sorry critics, you don't know what you're talking about - only repeating rumors and trying to discredit a very good, principled man. This article has taken a number of quotes out of context in an effort to discredit him. In the past few years Jason Chaffetz has really done his homework - he's gone out with the police in an effort to understand what they face each day. The police are frustrated that illegal immigrants are being let go out of jail time and time again right after committing crimes - why? there just isn't room to detain them. Chaffetz is only looking for solutions to protect the general public from law breakers. I've personally heard Chaffetz discuss often - and always consistently - how immigration needs to be handled both humanely and fairly. These are just the facts -the rest is bogus. It's time for Jason Chaffetz!

I was not a delegate this year, but my husband was. We went to the Jason Chaffetz website and read his immigration position just after the caucuses. I printed it.
I just went and read it again. Not one word has changed. It sickens me that Mr. Spencer and his cohorts at the Democratic Party are willing to lie because it generates donations. It sickens me that they travel around the country and tell people Utahns are racist - simply because it serves their purposes.
The reality in this country is that illegal aliens are routinely being released for crimes that you and I would be prosecuted for committing. This is because there are no federal facilities to house them in the West. I think more of our prisons should be cheap and portable - whether they house illegal prisoners or citizens.
If anything is racism, it is this promotion of a status quo in which we enforce the law against our own citizens, but let illegal immigrants commit petty crimes with impugnity.

Arc, you are amazing! When are you running for office? Go reread your own posts and this article. You are claiming that Chaffetz didn't say what Chaffetz wishes he hadn't said.
And he is backing down from using those words. How dishonest can you be?
Chaffetz HAS CHANGED his position. He has gone from tents for all, to "Pathway to Deportation" visas for all to now openly supporting the Guest Worker Visas for all.
It is absolutely insane and beyond dishonest for you to say he has not changed his position. He has taken three entirely seperate positions now, for all.
Since you have the hardest time reading anything but your own lies on the tents, explain to me how you have two visas that Chaffetz supports. The first is a "Pathway to Deportation" visa and then a Guest Worker Visa? The first one is suppose to be temporary just long enough to deport themselves. The second is a visa that allows them to stay and work. His only condition on the second one is no citizenship. Yipee, none of the Guest Worker visas gave citizenship.
You see the sun at noon day and say it's midnight.

I have always thought that Sheriff Joe has an innovative and creative solution to a huge problem, to wit, not enough space to house the prisoners the Arizona courts tell him have to be incarcerated.
The federal court system do the same thing. they sentence federal criminals to prison and just expect it to happen. There is not enough housing for all the sentenced prisoners and this includes the illegal aliens (from any country.
I applaud Jason for at least trying to come up with a solution. The WGA just talks and has meetings on taxpayer dollars and never shows any progress!

Avi8r, you are just wrong, and you are starting to sound like Arc. It's as though you are making this up as you go.
Now the tents are to serve out sentences. That sounds good but Chaffetz said those were to be used to deport people. I wish the moderator would allow links because I would send a link to the Salt Lake Tribune where Jason himself says they are for both criminals and to hold all those for deportation. The criminal part is new, not the deportation.
I find it appropriate that in order to get the whole picture as to who Jason Chaffetz really is you have to read all of the papers, and as you say, put them together. When you do that, as a minimum you realize that Jason is not even telling all of the reporters the same story.
That is certainly what he did with the Republican delegates. And now what he is doing with the general election voters.
And then he blames the Democrat for exposing his multiple use of the same image. When in doubt, blame someone else.
I sure hope the average voter can see through his games.

Just do the math on this one and remember that John Huntsman has begrudgingly endorsed Jason Chaffetz.
Even John Huntsman finds Jason's words wrong.
Chaffetz and his supporters are blaming everyone but Santa Claus. Face it, Jason has been caught in the tangling web of lies that he magically wove in order to win.
He will be a perfect fit for a Washington DC that has ruined our country. They lie at the drop of the hat, and Jason is off to a head start.
I find the comment about Bennion Spencer being another Bill Orton or Jim Matheson enough comfort for me. I decided to vote for 'anyone but Jason' a long time ago. Made much easier as I get to know Bennion Spencer. He will make a decent congressman.
At least we won't have to worry about him lying to us all the time and blaiming the Governor, or Chris Cannon's employees, or David Leavitt's family, or the editorial board, or the Credit Unions, or the teachers, well you get my point.
It's everyone's fault but Jasons! haha
Laughing this one up big time!

The Western Governors' Association does support the building of "Facilities" for the purpose of incarceration. That these facilities be "Tented facilities" much like those used in other states, and adequate for use by our own military, seems to be less expensive, quicker to establish, and efficient in purpose. Our judicial system, not Jason Chaffetz, would decide who occupies them.
This is not an issue of work visa; it deals with addressing the violation of our laws. Doing nothing is absurd. Please, Mr. Spencer, give us an alternative beyond continuing to do nothing and ignore the problem. Let's build a great big fence, that oughta do it....
BTW, I'm still trying to find where Jason Chaffetz personally uses the terms in whole context of, "...round up all the illegal aliens and put them in tented cities surrounded by razor-edged barbed wire." I can't find that quote anywhere outside of his distracters compiling words out of context and completing fabricated sentences.

I've never seen a politician so desperate as Bennion Spencer. He loves to lie, twist and misrepresent Chaffetz' position. Now, he's stooping to calling him a Nazi - how offensive! It's simply outrageous that proposing that fugitive aliens - some 600,000 of them - be held in detention facilities while awaiting deportation is the same as "rounding up anyone with brown skin". What a bunch of BS. Perhaps Bennion Spencer can open his home to some of these felons - I know *I* don't want them running around my neighborhood.

I love all these folks who don't read. Their understanding of the Chaffetz position is evolving (since they never bothered to read it), but they think it's the Chaffetz position that is evolving.
It helps to read. Go read the immigration position on the website. All of the comments I've read in the media from Chaffetz are consistent with that plan. Your understanding (or misunderstanding) of those comments may keep changing, but the plan itself has not changed.
Smart people don't let a person's opponent define their position. Interestingly, I never see articles where Chaffetz is distorting his opponent's position. And when I read comments to articles, the Chaffetz folks seem to stick to the issues while his detractors are busy making personal attacks. That speaks volumes to me.

The anti-Chaffetz campaign is sick. They take one topic and they twist it and run headlines and quotes from people who lack principle (because distortion and winning matters more than honesty).
Lawbreakers go to jail. Jails cost too much. So follow the Arizona sheriff's plan of building cheaper jails using tents and fences. Not that complex...but cry racist and hatred if you want.
I'm tired of typical politics. I'll vote for Chaffetz.

So its inhumane to put people in a "tent" city that has no legal right to be in our country in the first place, but its good enough to house criminals in Arizona. tents are good enough for the military, you people make it sound like we need to build a 4 star hotel or something. wether Jason Lied or not I dont care I but at least he has an idea that would work and not cost the tax payers as much

Might I add that writting is only one form of communication. Equally as powerful is the spoken word.
The issue here is that the written word of Jason Chaffetz is not the same as the spoken word.
I know that this frustrates the supporters of Jason Chaffetz but when many citizens and public leaders step forward in correcting the spoken word, then there is a problem.
Clearly what Jason has written and what he has spoken have not been consistent. What he has spoken has been far more aggressive than even Jason seems to be comfortable with. He is clearly backpeddaling on his spoken word, trying to pretend it is no different than his written word.
And I have read his written word. It states principles, not action items. It seems Jason is getting in trouble because his action items are not consistent with his principles.

More distortion to just make a story.
Never has it been said that all illegals would be "rounded up" and put up in tent cities. It has only been suggested to hold persons who commit crimes that need to be held by the Federal Government and aren't because there are no facilities. They would only be held for as long as it take the Fed's to come and get those criminals.
This plan does not say those who commit illegal act, such as being here illegal. Only those who commit other crimes, violent or fradulent crimes, who are fugitive aliens. Not women and children it's petty partisan politics.

While the details of the plan may have changed some, I think that the important thing, which is fixing immigration has stayed the same. It is easy enough to pick at details of a persons plan, but much harder to create a plan and then go to work implementing it.
JMT | 12:30 p.m. Oct. 10, 2008
KE, you are the first Chaffetz supporter that is honest. You admit that details have changed.
Yes, we agree that the immigration problem needs to be fixed. And yes, it will require deportation and detaining people, etc.
The problem I have in all of this is the blatant distortions of truth from Jason Chaffetz.
His first actions were to attack David Leavitt the morning of the convention with a smear for supposedly supporting amnesty. Later that day Jason gives an excellent speech that includes tents with razors. That fires up the delegates, he nearly wins at convention.
During the primary he begins to try and settle down, shifts to a visa for all illegal aliens he calls a "Pathway to deportation." Right off the bat his tents do not fit with this broad, liberally visa. So we see the first real morph. While many delegates have stated that Jason said the tents/razors were fall ALL illegals now he clarifies that it's only for criminals, the rest get these visas. The heat continues so then he claims he's only supporting the Governors Associations position. The Governors step up and say, not so. Now Jason is trying to give that change cover.

And in so doing he introduces yet another plan, that he supports Guest Worker visas. This is so ironic that this is the very thing he attacked not only Chris Cannon but Bennett, etc over supporting. He attacks them for it, now he embraces it. And better yet, he claims he is the only one trying to solve the visa problem.
Clearly Jason's details are all over the place.
For me the bigger issue is his integrity. In the course of just 5 months he has gone for tents with razors for all illegal aliens, to "Pathway to Deportation" visas for all illegal aliens, and now Guest Worker visas for all.
Three very different approachs from one candidate.
Right now our nation is in trouble, by and large because of politicians we cannot trust. Clearly Jason would be part of that problem. I can't support him though KE, I respect you for being the first Chaffetz supporter to admit he has changed.
The rest of us have watched for 5 months now.
Thanks for the honesty!!!
Arc and Avi8tr, shame, shame!

This is getting embarrassing. Someone please tell Jason Chaffetz to do the right thing and withdraw from this race.

This whole article is ridiculous. The most interesting part is when the democrat makes outrageous, knowingly untrue statements then says it's winning him points/money with people in other states.
We just got rid of a guy who was more concerned with the opinions of people from OUTSIDE Utah than those of us who live here. I'm not so eager to get another lap dog in position, regardless of party affiliation.
Whether or not I agree with all tennets of Chaffetz plan, notice that it's HIS plan we're all talking about. Can anyone say what his opponent's plan is? Of course not. The democrat doesn't have one. Better to get someone in office who can think outside the box than more of the same inaction.

I used to support Jason Chaffetz, but this is unbelieveable. Tent cities with barbed wire? It is barbaric. I'm sure that this political tactic appeals to the right-wing of our party, but most Republicans do not believe in such extreme rhetoric.
Jason, just come out and take it all back and say it was a mistake. If you do, you might win back my vote.

This is unreal. Jason Chaffetz political race should not chase anyone away from the Republican party. We need John McCain. He'd never say anything like this.
Republicans should vote for Bennion Spencer if they are so inclined. I cannot blame them after reading this. Ben's not a baby killer like other Dems. But we need McCain.

I see no problem whatsoever with Chaffetz' plan. I am all for building inexpensive detention centers where costs can be reduced, yet violators can still be held. Chaffetz is merely proposing a creative solution to the problem that we have.
DCF | 1:57 p.m. Oct. 10, 2008
Wilson, I've also heard from delegates that are also shocked by some of this. They obviously didn't hear his speech at convention or felt he has really gone over board.
Going overboard is why he is also now supporting the Guest Worker visa. It balances out his innane proposal to lock up Hispanics in the desert.
Considering Utah's pround record of locking up Japanese at Topaz, of course many people are very sensitive to this issue.
We can solve the immigration problem minus concentration camps. Jason knows it but caught playing cute with the right wing of the Republican party.
I don't trust him.

Chaffetz has said in meetings that he did what he needed to do during and said what he needed to say in order to get out of convention and to win primary. Ask him about his conversations with the people he trashed on during the primary. Ask him what he said to Senatons Natch and Bennett. It was disgusting hearing him cry about he spoke poorly about them and Gov Huntsman to the delegates just to get a leg up.
I don't trust him at all.

I'm all for Republicans in office, but Chaffetz is way out there.
Jason says tent cities with barbed wire.
Jason says no earmarks.
Jason says global warming is a farce.
Jason wants to extend the Bush tax cuts.
Jason admitted on KTALK that he supports tax cuts for overseas corporations.
Jason says unemployment is not a problem.
Jason Chaffetz is NOT our Congressman.

Nate, the bigger issue for many is not the creative solution mentioned, but the great variation in what Jason has proposed. Which version do you want to believe? The tents, regardless of who's idea it was. The pathway to deporation visa for 15 million (it isn't 20 million) or his newest which is the guest worker visa.
Keep in mind, if you are giving guest worker visas to all illegal aliens you have basically solved the problem by legalizing all of them with the hope that they finally return home this time. It is the reality that they don't return home when the visa expires that causes so many to oppose guest worker visas as amnesty. In fact, this is why Jason opposed them.
One candidate with three very different ideas on how to solve it. It get's even more creative when you read the mental gymnastics Jason goes through trying to explain them as one continuem and not outright flip-flopping.
I also agree, if you must vote for Bennion Spencer but we cannot afford Barak Obama. Please don't leave the GOP over Chaffetz, just vote him out. We would be better off without his tent detention facilities.

A Latina | 4:00 p.m. Oct. 10, 2008
It stuns me at all of the folks out here misrepresenting Mr. Caffetz position on ILLEGAL immigration. My family came into this country LEGALLY and we find the deception that Mr. Chaffetz detractors use (purposely lying about what he said) to be almost as immoral as the near slavery conditions that many illegals are forced to work in because of their status. We are also disgusted with the criminal ILLEGALS (those who committed crimes other beyond our immigration laws) who make it harder for those of us here legally to get treated fairly.
The ONLY people here who are making it about race are Mr. Chaffetz detractors. Shame on all of you for making an already emotional issue more so.

A latina, can I suggest you read Jason's own words in the newspapers?
Some say this is about race. And I agree that illegal aliens are treated like indentured servants. The problem must be solved.
I did as was suggested by another blogger and went back over the past month and read all the stories about this in the Salt Lake Tribune, Deseret News and Daily Herald. Jason's position is growing almost as fast as his nose.
We need to fix this but having a congressman who will say such extreme things just to get votes is not a solution. It is part of the problem.
As for the race thing, let's face it, we are not talking about white faced Englishmen like my family. Where the rubber meets the road is a tent full of Hispanics down in Joe Arripao's "facilities" in Arizona. I know Jason and many think this is a great idea. I don't.
When we talk illegal aliens we are talking the vast majority of the issue being Hispanic. Do we really want to create tent cities for Hispanics? Too close to Japanese for my taste. Very unAmerican.

I think it is a great idea. It would also have the beneficial effect of taking a load off the ciminal justice system, free up a lot of jail space and cut way down on crime, gangs and drug dealing. I'm going to send him some campaign funds. He ought to be running for president.

Who's Injecting Race? | 5:50 p.m. Oct. 10, 2008
It's Jason Chaffetz who has injected race into a very sensitive immigration issue. On his website, Jason focuses primarily on people of color, he specifically cites only statistics about immigration from Latin America while disparaging the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund.
arc | 5:57 p.m. Oct. 10, 2008
Jason's comments are being smeared. He never targeted anyone's race. He is pro legal immigration. His plan is simple, he has stated:
As your Congressman, I will vote based on these principles:
▪ FIX LEGAL IMMIGRATION
▪ REJECT AMNESTY
▪ LOCK DOWN THE BORDER, ENFORCE VISAS
▪ HAVE THE POLITICAL WILL TO ENFORCE THE CURRENT LAWS
▪ GET RID OF REWARDS & INCENTIVES TO BE HERE ILLEGALLY
▪ GIVE BUSINESS THE TOOLS & ALIGN FINANCIAL INCENTIVES
▪ INSIST ON ASSIMILATION
--Jason Chaffetz
FIX LEGAL IMMIGRATION
There are millions of people from around the world who seek to legally become a citizen of the United States of America. Unfortunately, the system is failing. Last year the Wall Street Journal stated the current green-card backlog includes applicants who face a 22-year wait time. This doesn’t work for anybody. We need to implement the leadership necessary to fix this problem and appropriate the money needed to thoroughly process applicants in a timely manner. Until legal immigration works, we will continue to have major problems.

Jason is more a voice of reason compared to:
There are people that want to round up all 12 million illegals, and are MAD that Jason DOESN'T want to do that. Jason only wanted facilities where the government wouldn't have to catch and release felons. There are 600,000 they have let go. We wouldn't have to build facilities for that many, as we just need a temporary facility for convicted criminals, to be held prior to deportation.
There are people that don't want anyone new moving in, where Jason wants to fix LEGAL immigration so it doesn't take so long to legally come here.
There are people that think providing any temporary worker visa is wrong, where Jason agrees it is a great way to bring people out of the shadows, get rid of the fake IDs, but this in NO WAY provides a pathway to citizenship in front of those wanting to immigrate who have followed the rules.
Those that are blasting Jason Chaffetz, should not be, as he is a voice of reason and is not promoting the ideas he is accused of.

I'm pretty sure that Bill Richardson has extended family who are in this country illegally. The same goes for Janet Napolitano of Arizona. If anyone is racist on the immigration issue, it appears to be Hispanic lawmakers who always put their race above all other concerns. It's ironic that the biggest pro-illegal advocacy group for Hispanics is called "La Raza" which literally means the race. Another one "La Mecha", has a slogan which states "for the (Hispanic) race everything, for everyone else nothing".
What is wrong with detaining criminal illegals in centralized prisons until they can be processed by the understaffed ICE agents. Time after time illegal aliens are detained for various crimes and routinely let go because the 10 ICE agents assigned to cover the entire state cannot get their in a reasonable time.
Many of these illegals to on to commit other crimes like DUI, child molestation/rape, drug trafficking, etc... There is usually a public outcry demanding to know why the local police let them go after a prior arrest. Having one or more immigration detention facilities would be great, even if it was constructed out of tents. Our military has similar housing.

He concurs with the Western Governor's Association, which passed a resolution calling for the federal government to build a facility to house its own prisoners.
Federal prisoners who are not violent criminals are often released because there is no prison space to hold them. The detention facility would house those who are convicted of federal crimes - whether or not these people are illegal aliens.
Jason has also suggested that tent facilities similar to those in Arizona are good enough for our soldiers in Iraq and should be good enough for our federal prisoners here at home.
Jason never said that using tents was the WGA's idea, nor that the purpose of them was to "round up" illegal immigrants into tent cities.
Rep. Congressmen Mike Honda, publicly stated on the Doug Wright show, that he had not yet heard or read anything written or said by Chaffetz, nor had he spoke to or met Jason, but had his information from La Raza.
