Dixie came in third place in Region 9 behind Snow Canyon and then Pine View and you still rank them #20? They didn't even make the playoffs. C'mon DN, have a clue.

I feel bad for Dixie. 12-3 and not in the playoffs? That bites. Good luck to all Utah County teams. Bring the title home again.

I don't know, it just seems wrong for Dixie to not be in the playoffs. I suppose they knew going into those games against Pine View and Snow Canyon, they had to win. My guess is they are the better team. They did beat Springville. I saw Snow Canyon play Bountiful, and SC didn't look very good. If they get past Timpview, they certainly wont get past WX!

IMO, the final 4 in the 5A playoffs will be Alta, Timpanogos, Davis, and Skyline. Sorry Lone Peak and Viewmont ... you're not going to win on Skyline's tiny field. They're physical and you won't even score there. Davis won't have much trouble with them once the field is bigger and on turf at Juan Diego though. Alta vs. Timpanogos will be a great game to watch as should the finals.

Look for an all region 5 semi-final.
Also very sad the Mountain Crest is left out in favor of Timpview.

Ha ha ... an all region 5 semi-finals ? Thanks for the laugh. Bountiful and Woods Cross certainly have good draws and should make it to the semis (unless Bountiful chokes again and loses to Olympus for the second year). You're dreaming though if you think Sky View or Bonneville will make it to the semis.

Actually, Pineview could've very easily been 4-0 in Region 9 4A play. They were ahead in the first two games against SC and Dixie but ended up giving up late goals and lost those two games. That's what funny about soccer, one team can dominate play as far as possession and shots-on-goal and then fall asleep for a second and end up losing. I guess that's why you play the games! Pineview also competed very well against Waterford and East in the pre-season. Pineview deserves to be in the top 20, so does SC, but Dixie-no way!

WX better watch out for those Rams. They're underestimated and WX will be the lucky ones if they make it past the first round!!!!

GO LEHI! STICK IT TO BRIGHTON AND SHOW THE REST OF THE STATE WHAT'S UP!
wow east | 6:25 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
East came outta nowhere and snuck into 3rd place (even outta 5a) good job. I think it will be a huge battle to see who wins 4a. Region seven has Orem, springville and MV, and of course there's Bountiful, East, Mountain Crest, Woods cross..............Etc. It should be interesting.
wow east? | 8:51 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
East came out of nowhere? How is that so? If you pay any attention to high school soccer, you would know that East is a perennial power.

State champs in 1999 and 2004, Runners up in 1998, 2000 and 2003.

Year after year, their program is among the top in the state any classification and East is always a title contender. East sneaks up on nobody.

The most interesting games in 5A tomorrow will be the Skyline/Lone Peak and Brighton/Lehi battles. I predict Skyline and and Brighton to win those games and send the region 4 pretenders home for the winter.
well... | 6:36 a.m. Oct. 14, 2008
well...i think that someone here is from east.....haha only someone FROM east would know (or even care about) those kinds of stats....
Egos Shocked | 8:18 a.m. Oct. 14, 2008
There are going to be many egos hurt by the end of the day and it won't just be the underdogs hurt, some supposed big dogs will fall along the way. Anyone for an upset? I am and I think that my team will do it, be ready Region 5. I also think Utah county is in for a shock or two.

'so far no shock in utah county' ? Didn't Orem lose to Bonneville ? Seems kind of shocking to me.
