Thank you for this wonderful article. My husband (age 28) will eventually need a liver transplant (due to autoimmune disease) and I am so grateful for those who are willing to donate their organs in order to give people a second chance at life!

It is a good reminder for people to sign their organ donor cards. I don't know what the ratio is for other organs but right now 2/3 die waiting for livers. I have Hepatitis C and many of my friends do as well and right now Hep C is the leading cause of liver transplants. I am tired of losing friends that are waiting on a list. Please sign your donor cards and talk to your family about your wishes. Thank you for the article!
